Get your CAA credentials
Get your Flyer ID and Operator ID from the CAA, then an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) or General VLOS Certificate (GVC) with a partner school, depending on the work you want.

Register and get insured
Label your drone with your Operator ID and get insurance that covers commercial flying. We can tell you where to start.

Join Kiteshot
Apply as a pilot. When we have checked your licence and insurance, we offer you local jobs with the pay agreed before you accept.

Can I fly for money without a licence?
No. Paid drone work in the UK needs the right CAA registrations and competency for the category you fly in, plus insurance. We only offer paid jobs to pilots who have everything in place.
How long does it take to get licensed?
The Flyer ID test is taken online. An A2 CofC or GVC course takes longer, depending on the school and the certificate.
What does it cost?
Course fees depend on the school and the licence. We send partner school details, including their prices, with your next steps. Registering with Kiteshot is free.
Is the earnings estimate a promise?
No. It is an estimate, not a promise of work. What you earn depends on where you live, how often you can fly and local demand. When you are approved, every job offer shows the pay before you accept.

Do I have to edit photos or find customers?
