Editing takes longer than flying. We do all of it.
On most drone jobs, the editing, maps and reports take more time than the flight. With Kiteshot you upload the original files, and our editors finish the work for the customer.

Requirements in United States
What you need to fly with us.
Kiteshot jobs are flown under FAA Part 107, set by the FAA. A person checks every pilot's documents.
FAA Part 107 certificate
A current Remote Pilot Certificate, with recurrent training up to date.
Aircraft registration and Remote ID
Each drone registered with the FAA and broadcasting Remote ID.
Insurance
Liability insurance for commercial flights.
Requirements confirmed with the regulator before launch.

Do I need my own drone?
Yes. You fly your own drone, registered and insured for commercial work. The application shows which job types your drone suits.
How is the pay set?
Each job has a fixed rate, shown on the offer before you accept. There's no bidding against other pilots. If the brief changes after you accept, we agree the new pay with you first.
When do I get paid?
Within 7 days of an accepted upload. We check your files against the brief. If something is missing, we tell you exactly what to re-shoot or re-upload.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. There are no sign-up fees, and you never pay to see or accept jobs.
Do I edit the photos or make the maps?
No. Upload the original files. Our team does the editing, maps, reels and reports, and deals with the customer.
What if the weather is bad?
Every job comes with a date window, so you can pick a good day. If you cannot fly on any day in the window, tell us and we move it.
What do I need beyond Part 107?
An FAA-registered drone with Remote ID, and insurance for commercial flights. If a site needs airspace authorization, the brief says so and we help you get it before the flight.
When will I get my first job?
